6061 wrought tooling plate is an extremely versatile 6000 series aluminum alloy. It is also one of the most common aluminum alloys used in machining and fabrication. High weldability (Tig & Mig). 6061 is one of the best aluminum alloys for anodizing and coatings. Decent formability, medium strength alloy. 6061 is also heat-treatable.

Similar to 7000 series aluminums in hardness and manufactured by Alcoa™, Mic 6™ continues to be a favorite alloy of machinists due to its uses in tooling and machine setups. Optimum for high speed machining. Mic 6™ Aluminum Cast Plate is precision ground on both sides to a thickness tolerance of +/-.005" (20 RMS).

7075 wrought tooling plate is one of the strongest aluminum alloys manufactured today. Commonly used in aircraft structures and light-weight high-strength applications. 7075 lends itself well to machining and milling work. With similar chemical characteristics to 2024 aluminum, but available in thicker plate sizes.
